FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | APRIL 2025 57 Our winter season at The Summit is almost complete and once we get past May Gray, we will return to The Courts to begin our summer season. Indoor play will continue through May for two hours, three days a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm. When we move outdoors, we will play Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm at the Courts and Saturdays from 10 am to 12 pm indoor at The Summit. Water volleyball is a great way to get out of the house for some low impact exercise. Everyone is welcome to come out and give it a try. All ages, heights, and skill levels can participate. We also want to share the feedback from one of our members, Dr. Jerry Turner. Dr. Jerry wants to highlight the camaraderie and spirit of our Water Volleyball Club. Making Waves: Water Volleyball at Four Seasons ere's something magical when a volleyball splashes in the water just beyond someone's reach, followed by the chorus of laughter that ripples across the pool. We may not dive with the reckless abandon like we did in our twenties (our knees are thankful for that), but our 55-plus crew at Four Seasons transformed water volleyball into a special ritual. Truth be told, we've become quite the enthusiasts. Mel with his signature "long ball" landing well beyond the out-of-bound noodle. Dave who insists he can spike like it's 1985. And yes, Bricey with her infectious laughter keeping our rallies alive? Oh, don't forget the person responsible for "Tom ball." I think about how our matches embody something deeper than just a game. We embrace what business folks call "coopetition" — the sweet spot where cooperation meets competition? Instead of focusing on winning and rules, we challenge each other to reach higher. Every game becomes the beauty of what we create together. We celebrate great plays regardless of which team scores and help every player excel regardless of which side of the net they're on. Groaning collectively when someone misjudges the depth (which happens to the best of us). Our most memorable games aren't the ones we win, but the ones where everyone is encouraged and supported to play their heart out. So next time as we gather at our beloved pool, we're not there to claim bragging rights. We're there to push each other a little further than last time, to share belly laughs keeping us young, and — most critically — to make sure Ron actually remembers the score when it's his turn to serve. Aer all, at our age, the real victory isn't on the scoreboard — it's showing up, getting wet, and proving fun has no expiration date.
