Initially, K. Hovnanian Community Association distributed Community News, a four-page newsletter, with the first issue published in January 2006. A Name the Newsletter contest resulted in renaming the publication to Four Seasons Sentinel in 2012. The first archived Sentinel is Vol. 3, Issue 9 and dated September 2008. The issue contained 28 pages of community news and activities. The chairperson of the Communications Committee was Leighton "Mack" McLaughlin. The Sentinel continued to report on community news, committee meetings, and other activities within the community for the next four years. After a new publisher was brought aboard and a renaming contest for the publication resulted in the name changing from Four Seasons Sentinel to the Four Seasons Breeze in September 2012. Randy Balt was the chairperson of the Communications Committee at that time with Mack serving as Editor-in-Chief. Following Randy at the helm were Martha Baumgarten, Sandy Butler-Roberts, and Laurie Larson. Irene Welker stepped into the chairperson position in June 2022. On average, the number of pages in the Breeze is 72. An abundance of the contributions to the magazine are written by our wonderful residents and volunteers, truly making this a treasured publication. OTHER FUN FACTS: There have been two Four Seasons residents who wrote Chef 's Corner. Randy Balt initiated the column which was in turn written by Irene Welker. There have been two publishers over the years. Courtney Taylor, owner of Image Up Advertising & Design, with the help of her Account Executive Stacey Broderick and Print Manager Jolie Ross, have been instrumental in creating the finest community magazine with the efforts of volunteers at no cost to the HOA. Over the years, our beloved publications have grown from a humble photocopied four-page newsletter to a slick, professional magazine. ~ Irene Welker A History of Written Communications in Four Seasons Beaumont
