City of Menifee Update
By Robert Karwin, bkarwin@cityofmenifee.us
Each month, I remind you that City Council meetings are held at
City Hall on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6 pm,
and are open to the public. You can also watch online on our YouTube
channel.
You should also know that our very important Senior Advisory
Committee (SAC) meets every fourth Tuesday of each month at 10 am
in the Council Chambers in City Hall. Your District 1 representative
to this committee is Tracye Pierson. The meetings are open to the
public. All are welcome to attend and give your input on issues,
needs, and concerns for our Menifee seniors. The SAC meetings are
not currently streamed on our YouTube channel, but I am working
on that.
In other news, if everything goes as planned, we should be starting
construction of the new Bradley Road Bridge over Salt Creek in early
summer. The project will take about 18 months to complete and will
require the complete closure of Bradley Road, in both directions, for a
substantial amount of that time. If you need to travel over that bridge
regularly, then you should start now in planning your alternate route.
Finally, I want to encourage everyone to sign up for our new
emergency alert program: Alert Menifee. It provides notices about
emergency situations, such as severe weather, evacuations, and road
closures. You can choose to receive notifications by landline phone,
cell phone, text/SMS, or email. The information entered in the system
is for the purposes of communicating emergency and official City
information only and will not be sold to outside interests. To sign up,
please go to https://alertmenifee.genasys.com/portal/en/.
