32 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2025 | It's been a long time since the photo display in the Clubhouse hallway has been refreshed. e "Reections" display went up back in the pandemic days, and when it went up nobody could see it because the clubhouse was o limits. e Photo Club had a contest late last year and spilling over into January to replace the display. e community responded well, and we received ninety- four entries. e theme was SoCal Living, and each member was limited to four entries. Judging was done by an outside panel: • Katie Dolgov, Director of Exhibitions and Collections, Oceanside Museum of Art • Sing Baker, North County Photographic Society • Hugh Cox, North County Photographic Society ey met on Jan. 28 and reviewed all the photos on the big TV in the Lamia Room. First Place went to Mitchell Ehrlich. He received a One Year Patron Membership with Artist Alliance to the Oceanside Museum of Art. Second Place went to Sherri McDaniel, who received a $100 gi card at Michaels. ird Place went to Kurt (Casey) Shoenhard, who received a $50 gi card to Best Buy. Please take a moment to review all the photos selected for display in the hallway, including the three winners. ey are up in the hallway leading to the swimming pool near the exercise rooms. Maybe next time your photo will be up there! Mike ornton, Chuck Fasilis, and Marcie Geisser's all worked very hard to put all of this together. We hope to have another contest in a couple of years, when we've all forgotten how hard it was. We learned a lot from this contest, because the people who did the prior contest were not available to us for questions, except, oddly enough, a couple of the judges! All OHCC residents are welcome at the Photo Club. We have all levels of experience, and we have people who have fancy cameras with detachable lenses, point-and-shoot cameras, and of course lots of smartphones. We meet (usually) at 1 pm on the third ursday of the month in the Lamia Room. Annual dues are $10. What is your inspiration? e HOA continues to take orders for your own personalized bricks. Fill out an order form at the HOA oce, and include a check for $75. Your inspiration brick will help line the trail to the top of the hill!
