Ahoy Mates – all 268 of you as of Feb. 28! Wind is up and
Cycle One sails are underway. While February was lled with
non-sailing club events, March witnessed the start of our sailing
season. With multiple sails now under our belts we can safely
say we are o and running (er… sailing, that is). It's time to
break out our seagoing vocabulary. Training Coordinator Dave
Ramgren will soon be launching the 2025 training classes for
basic sailing, parts of the boat, knot tying, knowing the harbor,
"newbies" sails, and more!
Next month we will start publishing photos of our 2025 sails.
In the meantime, some from our recent USS MIDWAY tour are
attached for your enjoyment. As you can see, Ocean Hills Sailing
Club members "stormed" the MIDWAY for a docent led tour
arranged by First Mate Stephanie Hewitt. Rumor has it that one
of us wound up in the ship's brig.
