City of Menifee Update
By Robert Karwin, bkarwin@cityofmenifee.us
As many of you know, Menifee has one of the largest populations
of veterans of any city in California. To properly serve our veterans
and our many active-duty personnel, the City Council voted to form
the Veterans and Military Families Advisory Committee (VMFAC).
In a previous message to you, I had announced the formation of
this committee. I am now pleased to announce that the committee is
fully functional and has established a meeting schedule.
The mission of this committee is to identify needs in our military
communities and connect our veterans, active-duty personnel,
and the families supporting them with the resources they need. If
the resources are not available, then the committee will review the
implementation of programs within the City to fill those gaps.
The meetings are held the third Monday of every month at 3 pm
at City Hall, 29844 Haun Road. The meetings are open to the public.
If you would like to provide input to the committee during a public
session, please attend a meeting so you can express your ideas and
feedback directly to the committee members.
Right now, the meetings are not streamed live on our YouTube
channel. We will look into this option in the future.
Your District One Representative to the VMFAC is Linda Blanche
who was formerly the District One Senior Advisory Committee.
The City Council meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each
month at 6 pm at City Hall. The meetings are open to the public
and all are free to attend. You can also watch City Council meetings
streaming live on the City Of Menifee YouTube channel. If you have
any questions or would like to provide feedback on City items, please
email me directly at bkarwin@cityofmenifee.us.
