| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2025 | 47 The Garden Club's first biennial plant sale event during the Spring Craft Fair exceeded our expectations. Because it was so successful, we must offer our apologies to anyone who planned to check out the plants we expected to sell at the May yard sales. The good news is that we unexpectedly sold out of plants at the Craft Fair; and the bad news is, we don't have any left to sell as we had promised. However, It was so successful that we do expect to do plant sales again in 2027 for our second plant sale event. As a public service offering, our speaker in April was Ana Sandoval the Program Director of the Banning Senior Center. Many of our members expressed a strong interest in the Center's functions and services that she had mentioned when she was here in February to accept our $500 donation to their Children's Christmas Shopping Spree. She inspired so much interest that we asked her back to tell us more about the services the Senior Center offers Banning's seniors. Coming up this month is our Spring Fling Luncheon and Fashion Show. For $30 a ticket we get a fabulous lunch, a fashion show, and one free raff le ticket for a chance to win one of the amazing raff le prizes. But the best part is sharing the fun with a room full of friends. It promises to be a wonderful way to enjoy the day. As of this writing we are almost sold out but there will be a waiting list. Doors will open at 9:30 am and festivities start at 10 am. At any other meeting first time visitors are always welcome to attend. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Our President Beverly Agner (951) 306-7379 is always ready to answer your questions, but if you have membership questions, call one of our membership Co-Chairs Sherry Case (951) 533-3584 or Linda Powers (562) 400-0541. Pat Pennington (951) 314-9229 is always willing to answer questions about your vegetable garden. Garden Club
