| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | MAY 2025 | 3 Congratulations and welcome to the 2025 Master Board of Directors: Donald Day – President; Joe Ganino – Vice President; Bob Walter – 2nd Vice President; Gary Burkel - Treasurer; Sandra Gutknecht - Secretary. This year has a lot in store for our community and this new Board is excited to get started. Here's some of the things coming up this summer. June is a big month for Sun Lakes with the 35th annual Sun Lakes Charity Week running Tues., June 3 through Sun., June 8. The week is full of entertainment and merriment, starting with a festive Carnival atmosphere for Happy Hour on Tuesday in the Ballroom. The week continues with more fun at the Pancake Breakfast, Helicopter Ball Drop, a crazy golf tournament we call the Monster Scramble, a delicious evening of exotic wines with marvelous food and so much more. Tickets go on sale this month so be sure to get yours and come celebrate summer with your neighbors at Charity Week. This is not only a fun-filled week but a rewarding opportunity to enrich the Pass area in which we live. ALL the proceeds go to LOCAL charities, big and small, helping to grow and enhance our community. Please read the Charity Week article in this magazine for more information. Also in June, the new Spectrum channels should go live. That means we will start receiving more channels than ever before, including the Premier channels of Max (HBO), Cinemax, Paramount with Showtime, Starz and Starz Encore. More information will be coming about ways to access these plus any additional information we may need. Stay tuned. Not only are we getting new channels, our internet speed will increase as we go from our current bandwidth of 200 megabytes to a whopping one gigabyte. This will increase streaming speeds as well as internet speed for all of us. CCL, our new F&B management team, is in full swing with great new hours and a delightful menu that covers all the bases. They heard you when you asked for breakfast. They heard you when you asked for longer hours and more days open. They heard you when you asked for better prices. All of that is in place with the Sandwedge being open seven days a week, from 7 am to 7 pm, a full menu with a big variety of choices for everyone's taste plus $5 Bites. Now, it's up to all of you, to reciprocate and go for a meal or a snack or a drink. Forget any challenges you may have experienced in the past and give this new team a chance! They will only be as successful as you help make them. "The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails." ~ William Arthur Ward Don Day, Joe Ganino, Bob Walter, Gary Burkel, Sandra Gutknecht From the Master Board
