| LIFE IN SOLERA | MAY 2025 | 43
On March 10, some of us attended the BNP Paribas Masters
1000 Tennis Tournament at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. We
had purchased great seats on a beautiful day and got to see some
of the top ranked players compete. We watched Sakkari, Keys,
Gauff, Sabalenka, Mertens, and others play. Carol and Beverly
also watched Alcaraz practice.
The venue is referred to as "Tennis Paradise" and is truly a
charmed environment. This tournament level is just one below
a Grand Slam tournament. It gets better every year! This is the
fourth year some of us have gone together, and it's becoming an
annual pilgrimage. ~ Beverly Crowe
We meet on Mondays at 6 pm and Thursdays at 10 am in the Clubhouse. This
exercise promotes fun, balance, eye-hand coordination, as well as bending and
stretching movements. For info, contact Keith Smith at (661) 345-1744 or Carol
Stone at (951) 385 3450. All levels of players are welcome.
It gets cold in Solera … On March 18, with spring around the
corner, we played tennis despite the low temperature and being
able to see our breath. We tennis players are an intrepid lot!
