| THE COLONY NEWS | JUNE 2025 | 5 BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING HIGHLIGHTS: APRIL 17, 2025 Highlights are a condensed preliminary dra of the Open Session minutes. Aer review and approval by the Board at the next meeting, and the incorporation of any changes, the minutes become ocial. A complete copy is available in the HOA Oce. Stang Updates: General Manager Jim Morgan informed the Membership that Colleen Morrison, Property Services Supervisor, has resigned from her position and Ken Knapp will take her place. With this change, Anthony Reynoso will now oversee both Landscaping and Maintenance. Aerator for the Golf Course: Vice President Stevens informed the Membership that JC Golf has allowed the golf course to use their aerator at no charge, to aid in improving the condition of the greens. Majestic Asset Management Litigation Update: Ms. Stevens informed the Membership that the opening brief for the Majestic Appeal related to the $3.4 million fraudulent lien case is due in June 2025. On April 25, 2025, a hearing will be held to set the foreclosure date for the golf course. On March 17, 2025, Jen Huang recorded a $1.5 million Deed of Trust against the golf course. e Receiver was notied of this transaction by both the Riverside County Recorder and the Riverside County District Attorney's Oce. e Association's attorneys are actively working to have the Deed of Trust removed, as it appears to violate the March 2020 court order. Key takeaway, this ling does not impact the golf course foreclosure process currently underway. Bosworth vs. e Colony et al: Vice President Stevens informed the Membership that a hearing on the Glenn Bosworth Complaint is being held today (4/17), and the Board is awaiting feedback from Legal Counsel. Website Development Update: Ms. Stevens informed the Membership that Activities Director Kara Hardy has been assigned as Website Coordinator. She is collaborating with web consultants to create a password-protected resident portal for secure access. Work will also include rebranding, with a new logo and format. A cost proposal for this initiative is expected by the May meeting. Age Verication and Registration Process: Vice President Stevens reminded the Membership that the Age Verication and Registration Process will be held from April 21 to May 2, 2025, Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 12 pm. April 2025 Golf Course Subsidizing Request: e Board approved the April 2025 subsidy request for the golf course in the amount of $39,688. e subsidy will be used to support irrigation system repairs, mower and aerator maintenance, and tree trimming. Approval of the February 2025 Treasurer's Report: e Board unanimously approved the unaudited February 2025 Treasurer's Report as presented. Total Operating, Reserve Liabilities and Equity is $5,757,000. Filing of Liens: e Board approved Witkin & Neal to le Liens against Account #00242-8680, Account #00133-0397, Account #00265-6601, and Account #00132-9803 due to delinquent assessments exceeding $1,800 or being more than 12 months past due. Resignations, CATCOM: e Board approved the resignations of Bill Koch and Linda Bennett from the CATCOM Committee. Article 19 Veneers, 28-Day Member Comment: e Board approved the proposed amendments to Article 19 – Veneers to be published in e Colony News Magazine for the 28-Day Member Comment period. Article 15, 15.16.4 Decorative Flags, 28-Day Member Comment: e Board approved the proposed amendments to Article 15, 15.16.4 Decorative Flags to be published in e Colony News Magazine for the 28-Day Member Comment period. Article 4, Vehicle and Access Rules, Tabled: e Board tabled the Article 4, Vehicle and Access Rule amendments for further review. 2025-2026 Insurance Renewal, LaBarre/Oksnee: e Board approved the 2025-2026 Insurance Renewal as prepared by LaBarre/Oksnee at a cost not to exceed $131,993.92, that includes Earthquake and Flood coverage with a 10% deductible.
