| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JUNE 2025 | 3 From the Master Board Summer is coming close, our homes and garages are cleaned out from the May garage sales, and outdoor entertaining, activities and vacations are upon us. Already your new Board is developing improved communication with residents, advisory committees, and the district delegate assembly. Some of these changes were visible in the May Open Session with additional reports related to Security, reserve spending, board projects and financial performance. You will continue to see more changes in the coming months. Charity Week is nearly upon us, so we hope you have your tickets to at least one of the many fun events between June 3 to 8, all in a Carnival theme including the Mardi Gras dinner and wine tasting event, pancake breakfast and golfing activities. This is our premier event to raise funds in support of local charities that grow and enhance our San Gorgonio Pass community … so come out and enjoy the festivities! See you there! The new Spectrum channels are available now, including Channel 53 for all you avid Dodger fans (including a couple of us on the board)! Enjoy some great movies as the weather warms up. In addition to supporting Charity Week, the board is looking for residents with expertise in specific areas to volunteer their time and knowledge regarding Insurance, Procurement/Contracting, and Finance. First, insurance coverage is a major issue that needs to be resolved before the end of the year. As an HOA we are facing the same challenges that residents face to obtain appropriate coverage at a reasonable price. Second, we are seeking to restart a Procurement Advisory Committee, needing a team with purchasing, contracting, legal, and financial backgrounds. Third, our Financial Advisory Committee needs volunteers with accounting, business, banking, financial analysis, and investment backgrounds to enhance our monthly analysis, reporting, and accountability. CCL Hospitality continues to respond to resident feedback rising up to meet our menu requests, prices, service, hours of operation and technology platforms. They are actively using your comments to make improvements, yet staying within budget and meeting performance targets. They are truly our partner in hospitality with open communication, problem solving, gracious consideration of feedback, and hard work. The Board hopes you are taking an opportunity to enjoy the venues with good food and drink with friends and family. "Throughout my life, I've seen the difference that volunteering efforts can make in people's lives. I know the personal value of service as a local volunteer." Jimmy Carter "No matter how big and powerful government gets, and the many services it provides, it can never take the place of volunteers."
