To write in a meter and rhyme of a poem Make the words brief, not a long weighty tome Say a prodigal son who no longer will roam But returns to his family and his loving home Now add melody to make it a song But to make it appeal to a numerous throng Keep it concise to be sung, not too long Easy to sing and you cannot go wrong Or write you a tale to be spun as a story ere are many plot lines, so no need to worry Make it of horror, grisly and gory Or make it a bold tale of honor and glory Or make the characters and plot for a novel Show how the subplots unwind and unravel en the climax will leave all your readers to marvel As heroes prevail o'er the forces of evil Our Creative Writers Club has several experienced writers in many forms of literature. Come join us at Creative Writers Club meetings to share your ideas in a friendly setting, and listen to the writings and opinions of others. You will find this very stimulating. At our May club meeting we reviewed upcoming events and activities. The Veteran's Club was happy to participate in the New Residents WELCOME HOME gathering and had new residents sign up to join our club that evening. Of special recognition and review was the POW MIA / Missing Man table (above) that was set up in the Restaurant in coordination with CCL Management. This table and items provide a ceremonial display used to honor and remember those who were captured or missing during wartime. The table is a symbolic representation of their sacrifice and a reminder of the enduring hope for their return. A special thank you to new Veterans Club Member Larry Middlesworth - ARMY in suggesting this and setting up the table supplying the appropriate table elements. This table will be on display for the month of May in support of Memorial Day as a day for remembrance of those who have died in service to our country. Several Veteran Club members, paid respect at this POW MIA Table on Memorial Day May 26. Special guests during our May meeting were from LIBERTY VILLAGE / LINC Housing which provides all-age housing in a 38-unit supportive housing community for veterans in Beaumont. Guest speakers were Fontay "Tay" Mozga, Resident Services Coordinator and Celia Garcia, Senior Case Manager. They reviewed the services and apartments that meet a housing need for veterans with a disability who have experienced homelessness, veterans who have experienced chronic homelessness, and low-income veteran families in Riverside County.
