May Event Recap: Life Is Better with
Cheesecake! We couldn't agree more — life is
better with cheesecake! And we know this for a fact, thanks to the
delicious dessert we enjoyed our May event.
Solera's own Lane Joel wowed us with a demonstration of his
fabulous cheesecake recipe, uniquely prepared using a microwave
oven. Lane thoughtfully made both his classic "Nilla wafer" crust
and a gluten-free alternative, so everyone could enjoy a slice.
The result? A richly nuanced, creamy filling with a crunchy (not
soggy!) crust — simply yum.
Lane's demo sparked great questions, particularly about the
microwave method. His answer? The microwave produces a
delightfully smooth texture and preserves that perfect crust.
We're sold!
As always, we wrapped up the event with cookies and the
awarding of our raff le baskets. Proceeds from the raff le go toward
a scholarship for a deserving student in the Beaumont High School
Culinary Program — chosen by their teachers for this special
honor.
June 6. 1 to 3 pm in the Clubhouse: Take Me Out to the
Ballgame! Get ready to swing into summer our June event. We're
celebrating America's Pastime with a baseball-themed bash —
complete with classic ballpark eats, including gourmet hot dogs
and all the fixings. Whether you're a Dodgers devotee, Angels
aficionado, or just in it for the snacks and sunshine, we want to see
your favorite team's gear. Hats, jerseys, and foam fingers — bring
the spirit!
As always, we'll round off the fun with sweet treats, a raff le
drawing, and plenty of good conversation with fellow food lovers.
A few important notes:
• RSVP by May 30 (as noted on the f lyer) so we can ensure plenty
of food and seating for everyone.
• Annual club dues are $30, and new members are welcome any
time.
• We meet the first Friday of each month in the Clubhouse.
