| LIFE IN SOLERA | JUNE 2025 | 41 GOLF CLUB Our Match Play Championship is coming to the final match at this writing. Bob Umeck played the defending Champion Marty Anderson on May 6 at Soboba. It should be noted Bob has had two of his matches go to extra holes to decide the match. We will report the winner next month. By all accounts the IOA Championship went well at Tukwet Golf Club, where several of our members volunteered. This is the Epson tour for the ladies and is the step below the LPGA Tour. The club has started a Facebook page Solera Golf Club if you're interested. Feel free to join and post any golf material of interest. Our Memorial Golf tournament to honor our past members will be on May 20. Scramble everyone is invited whether you are a member or not. On May 24 we had our spring dinner to celebrate our Match Club Champion and honor our past members. Stan Whitsel is the contact for this also. The Match Play results were as follows: 1st Round: Anderson over Maciel, T. Smith beat Ardis, Dockery over Parker, Salvador best Forbes, Scott beat Duncanson, Umeck over Silva (21 holes) , Sampson beat Whitesel and Fry over Ray Smith. 2nd round Anderso over T. Smith, Salvador beat Dockery, Umeck beat Scott (19 Holes), Sampson over Fry. 3rd round Anderson over Salvador, Umeck over Sampson sets up the final between Umeck and Anderson. We played Skins on March 4 at Oak Valley the skins winners were Umeck, Young, Maciel, Whitesel Sampson and Rene Johnstone made a gross birdie on #8 for a NET DOUBLE EAGLE. March 18 was Low Net Stan Whitsel won with a net 70 John Dockrey took 2nd with a net 73, Kelly Bock and Jim Karalun tied for 3rd with 74. April Fool's Day Low Gross and Low Net were won by Mags with 98 Gross and Marty Anderson with a Net 77 at Oak Valley. April 8 Was A 2man Best Ball tournament won by Kelly Bock and Walter Stempien tied with Ray Smith and Jim Parker with 66. Dave Duncanson with Brad McDuffee and Dave Sampson and Armad Silva tied for 3rd with 67. On tax day skins was the game and Craig Martin won two skins, Bob Ardis and Walter Stempien won one each. April 22 had us at Yucaipa Foursomes three best ball winners were Dockery, Salvador, Maciel and Young with a 197 - 19. 2nd place was Duncanson, Mags, Lufkin, and a blind 202 14. It should be noted Bob Umeck shot even par 72 in this tournament. On the 29th we were back at Yucaipa for 2man skins. Duncanson and Stempien won two skins, Dockery and Young, Fry and Ardis, T. Smith and Silva and McDuffee and Martin won one each. Our Club Championship will be June 10 and 17. Should be a very competitive tournament. We are always looking for more golfers.
