Welcome to summer! is is the month for graduations, weddings, dad memories, and warmer weather- one would hope, right? To our dads here in OHCC- we are wishing you a "Happy Father's Day" this month. On Sun., June 15, all dads feel free to stop by the Clubhouse for a dad's day treat. Just say to the Front Desk "I am a dad!" Please note: e back 9 holes of the golf course will remain closed for safety reasons, until the lake project is completed. We thank you for your patience and cooperation. Our 4th of July event is in the works, and a yer can be found in this publication describing all the details. is is to include a parade, a BBQ lunch with music, but no reworks. e sta members have many talents, but "pyrotechnics" are not listed in their job descriptions. Several surrounding communities host a sensational display each year including Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, and San Marcos. e Clubhouse is now requiring residents that are using the pool area to register their guests at the Front Desk. is will last through the summer and end on Tues., Sept. 2. Upon registering, all guests will receive a wristband and a copy of the pool rules. Residents must always be with their guests when coming to the Clubhouse. Shoes, coverups, and shirts are required when walking through the Clubhouse. As of now, we have been taking sign-ups for the gleaning of fruit trees by ProduceGood, within the community. Interested residents are to sign up for this free service. It is a valuable service to pick and donate the excess fruit, rather than have it fall to ground. It surely can benet those in need. On Tues., July 15, Susan Miller, an author and noted speaker, will present her Alzheimer's journey, as she cared for her late husband. Susan is humorous, emotional, and candid about her experiences. Susan has spoken here before and she is always well-received by her audience. e Community Services Committee (CSC) are the sponsors of this presentation. A new Alzheimer's support group will begin this month on urs., June 5, at 10:30 am, rst ursday of each month. BrightStar Home Care is our sponsor and President Dan Sweiger, will be here to launch this new group and begin this discussion. ere has been an increased interest shown in starting a group, for those who live with this challenge day in and day out. anks to Tri-City Medical Center for hosting another Lunch and Lecture. Two more lectures are on the books for 2025. e three guest speakers were excellent, and our dedicated AV Committee members were there to lm the entire presentation. Enjoy the 84-degree heated pool, play Water Volleyball three times a week, try Fling Golf, and put together a Palm Court dinner. is all sounds delightful. Life just cannot get any better!
