26 | OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2025 | In addition to our regularly scheduled activities, the Sewing Etc. Club has classes for its members to encourage development of old and new skills. Recently, a number of participants made table runners using a technique called "stitch and ip." All of them were pleased to have taken the class and shared their nished work at our Spring Luncheon. (Check out the photo below.) e 50 cradle quilts, as mentioned in last month's article, will now be shared with the Woodchucks and painters to complete making and painting the cradles to donate to Camp Pendleton. (Photo included.) From quilts to fashion, check out the photo of the beautiful coat and model. If you have an interest in quilting, doing alternations, mending, knitting, crocheting, felting, etc. there are mentors willing to provide support. Did you know that the Sewing Etc. Club has three serger machines for use by members? Using the serger for hems is so ecient! ere are occasional classes provided. Crocheting a border around cut and scored eece making blankets to donate to Project Linus and Camp Pendleton has been a very popular activity. is is a great way to learn some basic crochet stitches and doesn't require counting! ere will be a crochet class coming up for beginners and those who wish to restart an old skill. It seems there's always something going on or being suggested. Your creativity is always welcome.
