Member Spotlight: Club member Vicki Brady was lucky enough to grow up in an active family in San Marino. She and her ve siblings spent summers at the beach and winters on the slopes. Vicki attended the University of Colorado- Boulder for a couple of years - and she admits that she mainly chose this college so she could ski. She had various oce jobs for two big law rms, then was the Event Coordinator and all-around Girl Friday for the VP of a major casino. She dated husband Mike in high school, and they lived much of their married life in El Segundo by the beach. Vicki says that they lived three minutes from the beach for 42 years, "like two old potted plants." But a friend lived in OHCC, and on a walk one day, the friend picked out Vicki and Mike's next house! ey loved OHCC on sight and bought that house in six days. e Bradys have a son and a daughter who both live in Carlsbad. Four grandkids also keep them busy. Vicki got injured playing pickle ball and that's what convinced her to start swimming. She calls the pool "a feel-good zone." She swims laps for 30 minutes a day, three times a week. But her real love is the Aqua Fitness classes, saying "I'm a water aerobics cheerleader!" Even though Vicki has had both knees AND both hips replaced, she says, "You use every muscle you own in the classes. It's invigorating and it's a great workout. You can't injure yourself plus it's fun!" Mike is a swimmer too, plus the couple enjoys golng and camping.
