At Four Seasons, May also brought lots of exciting activities and programs which, you hopefully had an opportunity to enjoy. And the fun is just getting started! As we swing into spring, the Social Committee presents the Queen tribute band, e Kings of Queen, in concert on Sun., June 1. e Kings of Queen is considered THE Queen tribute band, having performed at a variety of venues around the country. What makes e Kings of Queen truly unique is that they are purists in that they do not sing to tracks. All of the music and the vocals that you will hear are a 100% live performance. e band members who complete e Kings of Queen are guitarist/vocalist Gregg ompson, bassist/vocalist Mikey LP, pianist/vocalist Joe Case and drummer/vocalist Joe Turner. To recreate the magic of a Queen concert, Emo Alaeddin visually brings Freddie Mercury to life with his magnetic mannerisms, movements, costume changes, and looks. You won't want to miss out on this sure to be lively and entertaining evening. Tickets are on sale now at e Lodge for $25 each (payable by check or credit card) and are selling fast. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. So attach your wristband, bring your own refreshments, and join the fun! is event is for those aged 21 and better. Hooray for the red, white and blue! Four Seasons will observe the many liberties we, as a nation, enjoy at its annual Independence Day celebration on July 4th. Tickets are on sale now at e Lodge at a cost of $25 per person. Come out for an all American evening of patriotic music, a traditional BBQ (bring your own beverage), and a concert and dancing. Doors open at 4:30 pm with food service (hamburgers and potato salad) commencing at 5 pm. e Flag Ceremony and National Anthem (sung by Sandra Lubbers) is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm. Big Revenge takes the stage from 7 to 9 pm and Russ Brown, who will serve as the event's DJ, will provide music throughout the evening and will narrate the Flag Ceremony of the military branches and Old Glory. So put on your best patriotic attire and dancing shoes and be part of commemorating the values and ideals of the "great experiment known as democracy" upon which our country is founded. is event is for those aged 21 and better. Be sure to reserve Sept. 27 on your calendar as Four Seasons celebrates Oktoberfest. e Social Committee is planning quite an evening that you won't want to miss! Event information will be announced in an upcoming Herald article. For now just get your taste buds and dancing shoes ready for a traditional meal and music that should get you in the mood for Autumn! Also happening in June: bingo on Wednesdays; TGIF 6/6; Fathers Day 6/14; Music on the Plaza 6/17; Juneteenth concert 6/21; and Board of Directors meeting 6/25. Social Committee Library Committee June marks the beginning of summer, the primary travel season for many Four Seasons residents. Don't forget to come to the library and pick out some books to take along on your journeys. ose long ights across the country go faster and are much more pleasant with a good book to read. Paperback books, especially, don't take up much room in your suitcase. If you're doing a driving trip, check the library's impressive collection of Audio Books on the le side of the room under the Hardcover Fiction. anks to Library Committee Member, Nathan Church, the boxes have been restored to good condition, and each should contain the proper number of disks for you to enjoy listening to these popular books. e library is receiving donations of materials all the time; be sure to look for them when you visit. In the past couple of months, several of our book collections in the bookcases behind the couch have grown signicantly. We are adding Biographies, Nonction, Large Print, and Classics frequently. e Religion section has expanded signicantly, thanks to large donations, allowing you to explore many major faiths and global sacred philosophies. If you're in a hurry or have limited time to browse, check out the New York Times #1 Best Seller books. You may notice that our Hardcover Fiction and Fiction Paperback sections on the le and right walls have really been lling up their respective shelving spaces. We're gradually donating duplicates and older books (2015/16 Hardcovers & 2020/21 Paperbacks) to the Hemet Public Library and other community locations. Calling all Four Seasons Resident Authors! Have you written and published a book or two? If so, we want to meet you. Please identify yourself to a member of the Library Committee (listed in the back of the Herald magazine) or alert a sta member at e Lodge front desk. We want to include your book(s) in our Resident Authors collection found in the revolving bookcase to the le of the Fiction Paperbacks on the right side of the library. We would like to display your picture (if you desire) above the Hardcover Fiction books on the le side so your friends and neighbors can recognize you. Another possibility, if you are comfortable speaking, would be to consider doing an Authors' Talk for our residents. ink about it! e puzzles in the computer room are waiting for you, too. ~ Betty Crase
