Farewell to Friends Alberto Castilloveitia Sr. was a resident of Four Seasons Beaumont since 2008. He died of Alzheimer's on December 19, 2024, at the age of 79. He was married to Nellie Santiago-Castilloveitía for 58 years. They were blessed with two children, Christy and Albert. He lived to see his family grow large with eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, seven boys and six girls, so far. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to California as a newlywed in 1966. He worked at Sargent Fletcher in San Gabriel Valley making bombs during the Vietnam war. He became very proficient at assembly work. Later, after the war, he worked assembling and installing high school lockers. He was able to see quite a bit of California installing lockers in new and old schools. His last job was with Yellow Freight Trucking as a dock worker. He always said this was his favorite job. He was based in Barstow and he moved to Victorville with his family. After his retirement from Yellow, he moved to Moreno Valley where his daughter lived with his family. His hobbies were exercise, weightlifting, train/plane traveling to visit family and loved ones. Mostly he loved spending quality time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed Sundays at church with church family. Four Seasons Beaumont invited him and his wife to tour the models. They purchased one of the Monarchs and lived there happily. As his illness gradually got worse, he said he wanted to die at home and that he wished to be cremated. Redlands Community Hospital sent hospice services to help his family achieve this goal. Alberto is missed dearly, we will carry his funny, mischievous memories in our hearts forever.
