4 | SUN CITY CORE COURIER | JUNE 2025 | I hope you are all enjoying the start of the summer season. We have been quite busy with handling a couple of unexpected projects and getting events ready. As Brian mentioned, we had a great turnout for the Senior Health Fair that was sponsored by the City of Menifee. There were over 40 vendors in attendance to provide information to all on assistance and check-ups. We will be partnering with the city in July for Shakespeare in Sun City once again. More details will be published in the next Courier. We are excited to reintroduce the Welcoming Committee — formerly, the Welcome Wagon — to assist new owners and owners who have lived here but not had the time to tour the campus. The monthly gatherings where you can meet the Committee and tour the campus are on the first Thursday of the month at 11 am. A Welcome Committee luncheon will be held once a quarter where everyone is invited to attend to meet their neighbors, new and old, to enjoy each other's company and have fun. The FIRST luncheon will be held on Sat., June 7 at 11 am in Webb Hall. An RSVP is required so that we know how much food to get for the day, so please call the office at (951) 679-2311 or send an email to activities@suncitycivic. com to get on the list. Join us for the return of Motor Madness on Sat., June 21 from 9 am to 3 pm in the Cherry Hills parking lot. There will be classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, trophies, food trucks, music, and FUN! Swing on by! A quick note for everyone: At a recent meeting, the Board of Directors discussed the suspension of activity cards for those owners that are in violation or owe assessments. Please be aware that the owner will have the privileges suspended. However, if the owner does not reside here, the tenant will have their activity cards suspended. Please be aware that this is a decision of the Board that management must enforce. Did you know that posts on Nextdoor are viewed by the Association? Sometimes, we also receive posts from members when it relates to Sun City Civic. It was recently brought to the Board's attention that someone was upset that the Association and Avalon Management were not enforcing street parking or having security handle the matter. To be clear, the Association does not have security that patrols the community nor is the Association or Avalon responsible for PUBLIC streets. Please call the Menifee Police Department's non-emergency number at (951) 677-4964 for assistance with this matter. As Brian has stated in several articles over the years, the Association has many outstanding violations, ranging from under- age violations to stored vehicles or lack of maintenance. If you submit a complaint on any violation, we cannot provide any updates on the violation due to privacy reasons. However, be aware we are working on them and following the law on the process. If you submit a written complaint, then your information is confidential and not released to anyone. Also, Avalon Management has no enforcement authority nor are they responsible for day-to-day matters. Those matters are the responsibility of the Association's onsite office staff. Thank you all for your patience and understanding during often long process it takes to get some matters resolved. I hope you have a great summer! General Manager's Report
