10 | THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2025 | SOCIAL COMMITEEE By Sharon Carlson, Chair e Social Committee has been active this spring and is preparing for summer events. Key reminders include purchasing tickets online as seating is limited. If the events are sold out, check with Kara Hardy to see if you can be added to a waiting list. If you do not have a ticket, you will not be allowed into the event, even if it is to just listen to the music. Ticket prices include food and music. Please wait until your table number is called before getting into the food line. If we have extras, we will make an announcement. Please do not go into the kitchen. Kitchen access during events is for vendors, social committee members, and maintenance sta only. Recently, some Social Committee members have been admonished by residents who have an issue or concern. We ask you to be patient with us and remind you that we are volunteers. Social Committee members oen dedicate many hours to planning and executing the events, with only one purpose, to ensure that you will have an enjoyable time. We appreciate feedback and do our best to address issues and concerns. We are looking forward to an exciting summer of fun! ACCESS CONTROL & SAFETY Security Statistics For May 2025, there were a total of 22,045 gate entries recorded consisting of guests, recreational vehicles, vendors and golfers. Allied Security performed 13 property/residence checks, and issued 37 stop sign violations. Four residents were cited for speeding. ere were 28 medical, re and police incidents. Allied cited 24 residents for various parking violations and guest/vendor violations. 29 residents were cited for putting trash cans out too early and/or not putting them away on time. 50 garage doors were found to be open and Allied made calls to each resident to advise them to close their garage doors. Allied responded to 86 miscellaneous incidents related to deceased residents, dogs (barking, lost, o leash), signage (not allowed), trespassers, suspicious activity, reckless driving, solicitors (not allowed), welfare/wellness checks, gate strikes/tailgaters, broken/burst water lines.
