| THE COLONY NEWS | JULY 2025 | 7 RULES AND REGULATIONS Proposed new rules, or amendments to existing rules, require a 28-day member general notice (comment) period. e following proposed changes to "e Colony Rules and Regulations" have been approved by the Board to begin the general notice (comment) period. Any Member Comments regarding the proposed changes may be emailed to Kimberly Evans at Kimberly.evans@ pcminternet.com. Comments on the proposed changes will be submitted to the Board for its consideration. PURPOSE: e existing Rule 5.6.5 is proposed for amendment to allow Christmas lights to be turned on the weekend before anksgiving. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO RULE 5.6.5 December Holiday Season decorative lighting may only be placed, or hung, on the residence, in the front yard planter areas, shrubs/bushes, trees and tree wells and shall not interfere with the work or safety of the landscape crew. If extension cords are placed on the ground, they must run along the house side of the front walkways. If an extension is to be hung it must be a minimum of 7 feet above the ground. (It is recommended that extension cords approved for outdoor use be used utilized). December Holiday lighting for Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa may be installed the weekend before anksgiving and turned on at that time. is holiday lighting but may not be turned on until aer anksgiving Day and must be removed by January 15. PURPOSE: e existing Rule 15.12.1 (under 15.12 Window Treatments) is being amended to add clarifying language. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO RULE 15.12.1 Interior. Mirrored and otherwise reective lms and interior roll-up shades of mirrored reective materials are not allowed. Window (darkening) lms intended to reduce the eects of the sun, not mirrored or reective, are allowed. Sheets, aluminum foil, paper products, and other similar materials are also prohibited. PURPOSE: e existing Rule 25.1.5 is being amended to add clarifying language. PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO RULE 25.1.5 Pots, statues, artifacts (man-made items), or lawn furniture are not permitted in/on front yard lawns, planter areas, walkways, tree wells, driveways, or hanging from trees. An exception is made for the fabric "Welcome-type" ags with the a limit of one per household that may only be placed in the planter area. Neither the maintenance crews/contractor nor the Association is liable for any damage to items placed by the homeowner outside their gate in the front yard. 28-Day Member Comment (Approved for publication 5-15- 25; July News Magazine)
