Golf Club
Well, summer is heating up and the pond construction has
begun. Coots, ducks, and geese are massing at the border of our
golf course getting ready to swoop in to splash and poop. But our
trusty Fling golfers are ready for the avian onslaught and have
created "Operation Quack Attack" intent to hurl their golf ball
missiles at these intruders, a kind of Fling Antiaircraft plot.
But enough of that. Let's highlight some of our golfers'
achievements for the month of May. The Guys and Dolls
Tournament on May 24 rewarded many money makers. Here are
a few: Closest to the Pin winners were Sylvia Spector and Frank
Abe. Magic Circle Studs were Allen Cox, Dan Hoffman, and Donald
Russell. On Mon., May 12, our golfers competed for cash and world
renown at the Welks Fountain Course. Closest to the Pin Pros were
Suzanne Patten and Richard Komisarek. Jim Baker, Don Dudley,
Bill Nordberg, Scott Sloan, and Mike Stern plopped their balls into
the Magic Circle. Congratulations to these folks and all the others
who took home a few dollars at these events.
Our upcoming tourneys for July are Touring Amateurs on Mon.,
July 19 at St. Marks Executive Course. Guys and Dolls will take
place on Sat., July 19. Don't forget to sign up! Attached are three
photos of our fellow golfers intently prepping and warming up
before their tee times. Teresa will return with news in the next
