58 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | JULY 2025 | WWW (Water Weights Workout) Floor Is Lava Group Summer is here. Get in shape! Join us for Water Aerobics Monday through Friday at 4 pm. We usually meet in the South Clubhouse pool. On really hot days, some members meet at the Main Clubhouse pool as well. Contact Debbie McDonald to be put on our WWW message list to confirm where we are meeting. Debbie, Adolfo, Mandy , Mickey, and Margaret lead us for a great full-body workout with water weights for FREE. Happy Fourth of July from your friends standing on the couch (and the table, and the chair, etc.)! We're FILG (Floor is Lava Group) and we'd love to have you join us. We meet every Tuesday from 9 to 11 am in the Main Clubhouse to compete for the weekly $1,000 prize. We start at the Lounge and jump from chair to table to bar (we're really enjoying the springy new chairs, by the way!). Once everyone has made it to the bar, or perished in the lava (carpet), we don our grappling gear and face climb across the art display case, using pockets and crags in the structure to stay aloft. We usually lose a couple members along the way (sad face). From there we leap to the reception desk and then swing from the chandelier to the lobby bar. After that, remaining contestants must avoid the lava and get down the hall and to the door leading to the pool. The first one to that door wins the prize. Join us! Membership dues are only $200 a week. Monthly pizza parties, matching hats, and financial advice are just some of the perks of membership. Fun Bocce Factoid: The word "Bocce" comes from the plural of the Italian word boccia which means 'bowl' in the general sporting sense. The Winter/Spring Tournament ended on May 6. The A League winners are Gary and Suellen Jackson and Mel and Rosie Lahmon. The B-League winners are Verna Wallace, Randy Eden, John Hill and Howard Jackson. Congratulations! The Summer Tournament has started and runs from May 19 to Aug. 6 with playoffs on Aug. 11 and 12. Playing times will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 5, 6, 7, and possibly 8 pm, depending on the number of teams playing. Think you might be interested in playing Bocce but don't have a clue as to how to play? You're in luck as the Bocce Board has decided to put on another Bocce 101 Learning event. We will have veteran players there to teach you and help you with any questions. We also invite current players to join in the fun. We will have chips and salsa along with margaritas (for a small donation). Please join us on Aug. 9 at 6 pm at the Bocce courts located across the street from the North Clubhouse.
