By Tracie Rodgers Volunteers are the backbone of any Homeowners Association (HOA). These dedicated individuals generously contribute their time and effort to help maintain the community, organize events, and support the overall wellbeing of residents. Recognizing volunteers is not just a kind gesture; it is essential for fostering a strong, engaged community. One of the most practical benefits of volunteer involvement is the significant cost savings it brings to the HOA. The hours volunteers contribute often offset expenses that would otherwise require hiring outside professionals or contractors . By volunteering their skills and labor, these community members help reduce operational costs, which can help keep HOA dues lower for everyone The Social Committee always strives to submit proposals to the board with the goal of breaking even, while keeping event costs as reasonable as possible for residents. However, rising expenses — particularly for food, entertainment, and other services — have made this increasingly difficult. While the simplest solution would be to raise ticket prices, committee members recognize that many residents are sensitive to higher costs and are committed to maintaining accessibility and affordability. As a result, the committee continues to explore creative ways to manage expenses and deliver quality events without placing a financial burden on attendees. It is a pleasure to work alongside so many volunteers. The committee and club members truly make this a wonderful community. 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2025 | From Your Activities Director ank you for all the kind words of support.
