| SUN CITY CORE COURIER | JULY 2025 | 13 In May, the Sun City Art and Craft Guild wrapped up the year with a lovely potluck and the installation of our new officers. Regular meetings will pause for the summer and resume in September. Summer Activities: • Art Room Hours: The Art Room will remain open every Wednesday, from 1 to 4 pm throughout the summer for members to work on their projects and stay creative. • Watercolor Classes: Watercolor sessions will be held on most Thursdays. If you are interested in joining, contact Kathy Pickett at 951-264-3248 for details and availability. • Third Friday Art Meet-Up: Bring your current art project and join us every third Friday of the month, from 12:30 to 4 pm, for camaraderie and artistic inspiration. Please note that we only allow water-based or dry mediums. We hope to see you over the summer for creativity, conversation, and connection! Arts & Crafts Guild It was another wonderful month for our Knitters Club. It's hard to believe another month has flown by. The Senior Knitters & Crocheters Club continues to thrive and grow, with weekly attendance ranging from 26 to over 30 members. We are excited to see so many friendly faces each week. Our Cinco de Mayo celebration, combined with May birthday festivities on May 6, was an absolute blast. There was plenty of delicious food, including quesadillas with all the fixings and a scrumptious cake lovingly made by one of our talented members. We meet every Tuesday from 11 am to 3 pm, at Civic Hall (26601 Cherry Hills Blvd.). There are no membership fees, and we welcome everyone—not just knitters and crocheters. Our group includes many creative individuals working on a variety of crafts, all of which help support our wonderful community. We gladly accept donations of yarn, craft supplies, or funds to help us purchase materials like yarn and fleece. These resources allow us to continue creating beautiful and meaningful items, such as blankets, hats, scarves, afghans, bookmarks, baby gifts, and much more.
