| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2025 | 11 It's summertime and very warm out there … so how about spending your Tuesday evenings with Bingo friends and neighbors in the cool of the ballroom here in Sun Lakes? Come and enjoy the fun, prize monies, great food and beverages being served by our very own restaurant and lounge. Food and beverages are available with a credit card. All residents and visitors can purchase items. Bingo games dates this month will be Aug. 12, 19, and 26. We play 12 regular, and three special games. Guests can play for as little as $7 for the whole evening. Remember cash only — no checks or credit cards. Many cash and door prizes are won each week. Bingo Advisory Welcome to mid-summer and your SLCC Clubhouse Libraries! There are four libraries in our SLCC Library system — the hardback library and the paperback library at the Main Clubhouse, and mixed hardback and paperback book editions at the North and South Clubhouse libraries. Puzzles are also available to check out at all four libraries. There is no formal check out/check in system. Please take what books or puzzles you would like to read and then return them in a timely manner. Returned books and puzzles may be placed on or in the wooden book receptacles provided at each library location. Books and puzzles are no longer stamped to a particular library and can be returned to any Clubhouse. The book selections include general fiction, romance, mystery, westerns, and large print books. Biographies, classics, sports, military, non-fiction, classics, and wellness and inspiration books are also included at the North Clubhouse. If you don't find a book you are excited about in whatever library you are visiting, please visit the others to find that special read. At up to 80 pages, it includes pictures from residents plus articles from the Master Board, Delegate Assembly, FirstService, the Restaurant, the golf pro, and all the advisory committees. Clubs and groups send articles and photos about their activities to Sunlakesnews@yahoo.com by the sixth of each month. The Lifestyles Advisory Committee meets on the seventh of each month, unless otherwise specified, to review and edit the articles submitted for each month's issue of the magazine. We meet with Master Board liaison Sandra Gutknecht, Assistant General Manager Jason Ewals, and Recreation Manager Linda Vang to keep updated about events coming up in our community. We also publish want ads and for sale items from residents at no cost and hide a monthly joke for residents to find. Responses to our "Get the Joke" contest are put in a hat and a winner is randomly drawn, earning a restaurant gift card as a prize. Photographs taken by residents of areas within Sun Lakes are used on the magazine cover. We also post pictures of residents on their vacations, or of their beloved pets. If you're good at proofreading and are interested in joining us, please fill out a volunteer application form that you can get in the Main Clubhouse Lobby, and we'll put you on our waiting list.
