14 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | AUGUST 2025 | Don't rue the August heat, burst your boredom; summer isn't going anywhere just yet. Adjust your thermostats at home and come out and keep cool at your club. Before I get into the haps, I want to mention to you that as of this writing, our new food and beverage management CCL has been here just a few short months and has made a positive difference already. Our Sandwedge is now open Tuesday through Sunday, 7 am to 7 pm and offers a Grab & Go early morning menu. No more Sunday Brunch. Now, Sundays only, you can order breakfast until 2 pm and enjoy a different "Chef 's Special Breakfast"every Sunday. The Lounge is jumping with extended hours "Happier Happy Hours" Tuesday to Thursday from 3 to 8 pm and Friday and Saturday from 3 to 10 pm. Sun Lakers have never needed an excuse to have fun but just in case check out all the August Happenings. There is lots to do and enjoy with neighbors and friends. If you're new to Sun Lakes come on down and make new friends. If you haven't already met Angel, introduce yourself — her energy is contagious, she keeps everyone upbeat and rocking and her creativity for making "Cocktail Specials" is legendary. Enjoy a cool drink or cocktail and the solitude of a beautiful sunset from the Veranda. In addition to August being National Golf Month, Aug. 1 is National Girlfriends Day; Aug. 2 is International Beer Day — check out our special beer flights; Aug. 4 is National Friendship Day and National White Wine Day; Aug. 15 is Lemon Meringue Pie Day.; Aug. 16 is National Rum Day, try one of Angels creative rum drinks including a rum-infused root beer float; Aug. 17 is National Baby Boomers Day … are there any Boomers living here? I think so, come on out and celebrate. Aug. 22 is National Burger Day — Chef makes a great burger or enjoy our mini sliders; on Aug. 26, celebrate the 19th Amendment — I vote to bring all your gal pals out to celebrate. Enjoy our lively weekend entertainment on the Veranda. Please be considerate and follow SLCC rules. Make sure to accompany your guests to all SLCC venues and respect and follow our dress code. Remember all venues are CLOSED on Mondays. For reservations, call (951) 769 6654. Until next month, surround yourself with positivity, love, laughter, good friends, and family, always stay humble and kind and enjoy peace in your heart. ~ Carole Elliott, caroleelliott28@gmail.com Restaurant & Lounge Advisory •• ••••• •- €••
