Summer is upon us and now is surely the time to enjoy indoor activities. So why not join in the fun of the Actors Studio workshops for lots of laughter and making new friends while learning about the wonderful theater world? Please contact Chuck Gordon at 661-714-3847 for August dates, times and place for the workshops. We are beginning to work on our 2026 Showcase of comedy skits. The theme will be some of the funniest skits of Carol Burnett , who is one of the best comedians ever. You won't want to miss this event! It will be presented "Reader Style" – i.e., memorizations not necessary, so no one need be afraid to try out to be a part of this hilarious evening. We love to discover new talent and welcome all to our workshops and meetings. We also would love to have assistance with non-acting roles, such as technical support, set design, costumes, and promotional aspects, to name a few positions. Also, for 2026 we will once again present a full-length dinner play. We are researching scripts at this point to find just the one that all of our residents will enjoy. More about this production in future articles. 34 | THE COLONY NEWS | AUGUST 2025 | Our artist for August is David Gortner.
