City of Menifee Update At long last, we are ramping up for the groundbreaking of the Bradley Road Bridge project. The City is constructing a new bridge on Bradley Road across Salt Creek, which will raise the road seven to eight feet above the current level. This will prevent the road from flooding during heavy rains. The project will require the complete closure of Bradley Road, from Potomac to Rio Vista, for 12-14 months. The full project should take about 18 months. Please watch for updates on the firm date for the closing of the road. However, we are estimating mid-August. This will require those heading south of Salt Creek to either drive around to Murrieta Road or up to the I-215 at McCall. During construction, the Salt Creek Bike Path will remain open. The segment of the path near the construction will be rerouted to Pebble Beach Drive, but the rest of the path will be unchanged. Construction vehicles and equipment will use the vacant lot at the corner of Bradley and Cherry Hills for staging and storage. The City owns that lot and has plans in the future to build a City facility, such as a maintenance operations center. The activity you will be seeing on that lot will relate only to the Bradley Bridge. Nothing is being constructed on that lot right now. Once completed, the bridge will also provide separated pedestrian and bike lanes to connect Sun City safely to E.L. Petersen Park, which includes lighted, fenced small and large dog parks. City Council meetings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6 pm at City Hall and are open to the public. You can also watch online on our YouTube channel. If you have questions, comments, or concerns about the city, please email me at bkarwin@ cityofmenifee.us. By Robert Karwin, bkarwin@cityofmenifee.us City of Menifee Breaks Ground on Bradley Road Bridge Over Salt Creek The City of Menifee is preparing to begin construction on the Bradley Road Bridge over Salt Creek this summer! Bradley Road Closure: To facilitate construction, Bradley Road will be fully closed at the Salt Creek Wash between Rio Vista Drive and Potomac Drive for approximately one year. This closure is essential to ensure worker safety in this environmentally sensitive area and to accommodate the limited space available. Trail Access During Construction: The Salt Creek Trail will remain open throughout construction although a segment near Bradley Road will be temporarily detoured through the surrounding neighborhood. Upon project completion, trail access and the existing traffic signal will be restored to their current configurations. Learn more at www.cityofmenifee.us/BradleyBridge.
