If you are interested in learning about tennis and getting started playing, or it's been awhile since you last played, please join us. Folks are on the courts most mornings, 9 am in colder weather and 8 am when it's going to get warm! Tennis Club Shuffleboard Here it is August, summer is half over and now it is finally time to play Shuffleboard. We will be having our sign-ups on Aug. 7 at 1 pm in the Ballroom. e cost will remain at $10 per player. Please pay cash when you sign up. In the past we have started aer Labor Day. We play on ursday mornings at 9 am, 10 am, and if we have enough players sign up, we will have an 11 am squad. We usually play 10 to 12 weeks. A team consists of two players. Residents only. If you want to play but don't have a partner, we will do our best to help you find one. ere will be a blast sent as we get closer to remind you. We have a Welcome Back barbecue in September and a Potluck at our Awards dinner. We play for fun and to be with fellow residents. If you would like to learn or practice, we do have a very small group who play on Monday and Friday mornings at 8 am. Early to beat the heat. No commitment. No cost. Play when you can. Normal play times are usually an hour or less. Come by and take a look on Wednesdays at the Plaza behind e Lodge. However, it is still important to continue exercising. If you want to escape the heat, try joining us in the Lodge Ballroom for the "Walk Fit" class. e air is on, the fans are going, feet are moving and classmates are having a good time together. So grab a water bottle, put on some comfortable shoes and try us out. e class consists of nine different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" DVDs. e easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. e complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members, men and women, are always welcome! Class Schedule: Mon., Wed., Fri. 7:45 to 8:45 am in the Lodge Ballroom. CLASS IS FREE! "YouTube: Pickleball" is a great resource for pickleball fundamentals. Saturday mornings are a good time to watch the game being played. Playtime begins at 7:30 am. Stay safe on the court and come prepared. Pickleball Attire: • Court shoes (no street shoes allowed) • Proper dress attire - comfortable gym clothes • Eye protection • Pickleball paddle (we provide the balls) • Bring water! Evening pickleball playtime begins at 6 pm Monday through ursday. e evening pickleball players get together every third Sunday of the month at 5 pm in e Lodge Activity Room to enjoy a potluck dinner and hone their competitive skills playing the fun board game, Sequence.
