Since it's still hot during the dog days of summer, meeting times
remain at 7 am, unless you arrange otherwise with Canine Corral
members. Remember to bring plenty of water, both for your pet
and yourself.
We're excited to announce the upcoming Halloween Pet Parade
scheduled for Friday, Oct. 31, starting at 10 am in The Lodge parking
lot. Advanced entry applications will be accepted during the week
of the event (Oct. 27-30), and there will be a $5 entry fee this year.
This fee helps cover the cost of prizes, which include first, second,
and third place awards for small, medium, and large dogs. Last
year's event was a big success, featuring a wide variety of creatively
costumed pets. The October Breeze will provide full details about
the Pet Parade. The committee looks forward to seeing the creative
costumes pet owners come up with.
If you have a dog, consider joining so they can make friends and
run freely. The first year costs $30, with annual renewals at $10.
You must meet vaccination requirements and some other criteria,
all of which are explained in the application packet. Pick one up at
The Lodge front desk — it's very easy.
We're always looking for members for our Canine Corral Steering
Committee, which meets once a month on the first Thursday at 10
am for about an hour. If you're interested, stop by one month to see
