FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2025 57 This is the perspective of the artist of the month, Kitsy Anderson. "Art is an avenue to be creative and learn new media and techniques. We were given a challenge in class to try a Japanese style painting/drawing. is style uses watercolor and oen includes the use of ink. Because of this class, I have been experimenting with watercolor. When I saw this photo I was instantly inspired by the woman, her beautiful kimono, and her grace. So, I chose her as my subject. I have never used watercolor to paint a person before and found several challenges. It was obvious to me that I had to overcome them with guidance from Rob and the other students. e suggestions helped a great deal. I enjoy learning from him and our class members, who share things they've already learned. Rob has a wealth of knowledge. He shares ideas and helps us to learn to 'look and observe' the world around us. e class is so supportive and a wonderful place to combine creativity with learning, growing, and expressing yourself through art. "You will improve your skills, whatever level of drawing and painting you have. Come join us. You'll become part of our art family and have an opportunity to make new friends." Classes are held on Mondays and Fridays from 10 am to 12 noon.
