56 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2025
Our in-person meeting topic in August was "What's in Your
Bag." Besides cameras and lenses, what is important, what is
handy, and what are "gotta haves" to take on photo outings?
Important items include extra batteries, memory cards, and
lens cleaners. Handy items are a plastic bag, a cable release, or
a f lashlight. The "gotta haves" might be water and snacks. We
enjoyed seeing what each of us brings on different photo outings.
And what about those photo outings? The summer heat has
limited our excursions, but the cooling weather will bring many
opportunities to visit gardens, preserves, and events. Scheduled
so far are the San Jacinto Wildlife Preserve in December and the
San Diego Safari Park in February. Other destinations through
fall and winter will include Powwows, Big Morongo, Joshua
Tree, and the Living Desert.
If you want to share your love of photography, please join us.
We meet on the first Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30
pm in the RCN Main Room. Photographers of all skill levels
are welcome. Cell phone users are welcome — many photo
and editing techniques can be incorporated into cell phone
photography. Sometimes, the cell phone is the best option,
and as phone applications improve, the options for creating
beautiful images increase.
