| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2025 | 11 Fall is almost here — Sept. 22 marks the first day of fall. I can't believe how quickly the summer has gone by. But here in Sun Lakes, Tuesday night Bingo is going strong. The Bingo Committee aims to provide entertainment for our guests and raise funds for local charities. Come join the fun, win prizes, and enjoy delicious food and beverages served by our own restaurant and lounge. Food and drinks can be purchased with a credit card. All residents and visitors are welcome to buy items. Bingo game dates this month are Sept. 9, 16, 23, and 30. We will play 12 regular games and three special games. Guests can participate for as little as $7 for the entire evening. Remember, only cash is accepted — no checks or credit cards. Many cash prizes and door prizes will be awarded weekly. Doors open at 4:30 pm, and games begin promptly at 6 pm, generally concluding by 8:45 pm. Any questions? Please call Karen at (575) 202-6266. Bingo Advisory The four libraries at Sun Lakes include collections of hardbacks and paperbacks in the Main Clubhouse, as well as a mix of both in the North and South Clubhouses. Puzzles are now available at all three clubhouses. There is no formal check-in and check-out system, but you may return books and puzzles within a reasonable time frame. Books and puzzles can be returned to any library since they are no longer stamped to a specific location. The book selections in all three clubhouses feature mystery, romance, westerns, general fiction, large print, and titles focused on inspiration and wellness. Audiobooks are available only in the Main Clubhouse paperback library. Classics and non-fiction, including biography, military, and sports titles, are exclusively found in the North Clubhouse. If you belong to a book club, please inform us by contacting John Hasha, Chairman, at hashajohn@gmail.com. We are compiling a list of book clubs here at Sun Lakes. If you are interested in volunteering at the library, contact Laurel Stanley at (585) 378- 0803 or lvstanley@gmail.com. If you wish to join the Library Committee, reach out to John Hasha, Chairman, at (951) 267-1901, or Laurel Stanley. If you're searching for a specific book or want to assemble a puzzle, browse our libraries. ~ John Hasha, hashajohn@ gmail.com Library Advisory Lifestyles Magazine is the resource most residents turn to find out what's going on in our community. At up to 80 pages, it includes pictures from residents plus articles from the Master Board, Delegate Assembly, FirstService, the Restaurant, the golf pro, and all the advisory committees. Clubs and groups send articles and photos about their activities to Sunlakesnews@yahoo.com by the sixth of each month. The Lifestyles Advisory Committee meets on the seventh of each month, unless otherwise specified, to review and edit the articles submitted for each month's issue of the magazine. We meet with Master Board liaison Sandra Gutknecht, Assistant General Manager Jason Ewals, and Recreation Manager Linda Vang to keep updated about events coming up in our community. We also publish want ads and for sale items from residents at no cost and hide a monthly joke for residents to find. Responses to our "Get the Joke" contest are put in a hat and a winner is randomly drawn, earning a Visa gift card as a prize. Photographs taken by residents of areas within Sun Lakes are used on the magazine cover. We also post pictures of residents on their vacations, or of their beloved pets. If you're good at proofreading and are interested in joining us, please fill out a volunteer application form that you can get in the Main Clubhouse Lobby, and we'll put you on our waiting list.
