September is here, which means fall will officially begin. We in our crafting group are thinking of our next monthly project, which I can almost guarantee will be related to Halloween. That holiday offers so many possibilities of cute accessories to add to our homes or as gifts. Be ready to share any ideas you have at our next meeting. We completed our last monthly project, decorating coffee tins which began with one looking like the unadorned one at the top of the photo. So many clever and gorgeous motifs emerged, as you can see. We may be called Paper Crafters, but we do a myriad of crafts, using all kinds of materials. We are also a very social group, many of us participating together in various activities outside our crafty group. Our second annual picnic was a great success, thanks to Jan Flammang for all her organizational skills and bossiness! We love her. Her assistant, Gloria Jensen, offered moral and physical support. Fifteen gals were in attendance, each of us contributing to our potluck picnic lunch. We gathered on the South Clubhouse patio and the weather was quite nice, under the cover and with the fans going. We played charades, a game some of us had never played, others had played many decades ago. It was interesting and challenging but did provide us with a lot of laughs. Jan supplied various boxes of treats, which were awarded to the ones who guessed correctly. A special thank you goes out to Elaine Perkins and Rosanna de León for capturing photos of our group having so much fun. We'd like to welcome our newest member, Kasey Black. She's very friendly and has been a delightful addition to our group. We meet on Mondays in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room from 1 to 3 pm. On the second Monday only, we meet from 11 am to 1 pm. We will meet five times in September, with the first meeting on Labor Day, Sept 1. The second Monday is Sept. 8, when we will meet from 11 am to 1 pm, then the remaining meetings are Sept. 15, 22, and 29, from 1 to 3 pm. Our monthly birthday luncheon will be on Thurs., Sept. 11 in the Main Clubhouse Restaurant at 11:30 am. Paper Crafting 24 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2025 | Mudslingers The Mudslingers have added a Tuesday and Thursday class since our Wednesday and Friday class continue to be full. This new group meets Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 pm and Thursdays from 3 to 6 pm. The cost is $80 per month and includes ALL supplies and firings and has no long-term commitment — you go month to month. Please know we cannot make exceptions to the scheduling: if, for instance, you miss a session on Wednesday, you cannot come on Tuesday or Thursday.
