For this show we have a singer who will be new to our group and I'm thrilled to introduce him to our 80s family. His name is David Ambrose and he has sung in the Lounge for happy hours a few times and he's great! We're in for a real treat. Our August event entertainment was Radio Flyers who is one of our favorites and they didn't disappoint! Just some of their songs were: What's Your Name, You Can Do Magic, Lost In Love, Baby Come Back and they always do my favorite God Bless e Rains Down in Africa. That's a song I had heard so many times before and it never touched my soul until I heard their harmonies and it gives me goose bumps every time. I received many compliments about them afterwards. We really appreciate you Paul, Gina, and Ron and will look forward to your next visit. The 80s Club is designed for our Sun Lakes residents near or over 80 years of age along with their guests, no matter their ages. But I have to admit I do not check your IDs and I recently found out we have some members in their 70s … I say great! Our events are always on the first Saturday of the month and begin at 3 pm, include a brief meeting with announcements, then entertainment with the meals beginning between 3:30 and 3:45 pm. Each month is very close to the capacity at the South Clubhouse so get your money and reservations in early. Come join us once for the meal price of $20 to see if you might enjoy our group and only if you do, you need to join for the second time you attend. Our dues are $10 a year per person. Get your checks to Donna Harrington at 5393 Riviera for our Oct. 4 event by Sept. 28. There is a box on Donna's front porch labeled 80s Club for your checks and will be removed when we have sold out OR at the deadline. So do not leave a check if there is no box out. No reservations will be accepted after the deadline. If you are mailing in your check, we must have it in by the deadline date and make sure your phone number is on the check. Also, please give us the name of any guests you are paying for and bringing. We're always at the South Clubhouse, people begin arriving at 2:30 pm to get checked in and get their seats, and the program starts at 3pm. Meals are $20 per person..
