Some names that come to mind are Margaret Whiting, Helen Forrest, Ella Fitzgerald, Ella Mae Morse and even Doris Day. As time passed the female lead singer of pop and rock bands became a sound unto itself. ere has never been near as many female lead singers in bands as compared to male lead singers but the ladies of song denitely hold their own place in the world of pop and rock music.
