| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2025 | 61 Ladies Executive Golf Our members are enjoying the summer playing golf with friends and participating in tournaments. The LEGS/EMGC tournament and luncheon was a huge success, and our members had a wonderful time playing with the men. A big "thank you" to Michele Walter and Bea Mercado for organizing the tournament and to their volunteers who helped make the luncheon so festive. The table decorations were very colorful, and the food was delicious! All the prizes were awarded during the luncheon. Our members also took part in the "Women for Hope" golf tournament, live auction, and luncheon. The proceeds supported the Banning Broncos Girls Golf Team, Michelle's Place, and The House of Decision — all worthy causes. This is a tournament that everyone looks forward to each year and eagerly supports. We congratulate Rita Nelson on her first "hole-in-one" on #14 at the executive course, which she celebrated at last month's luncheon. Great job, Rita! If you're interested in learning more about our club, contact our Membership Chair, Cheryl Dunkel, at (213) 840-8917 or CherylRDunkel@gmail.com. Our annual membership fee is $25, and we also offer an Associate Membership for $10 if you don't golf but want to participate in our social activities and attend our monthly business/lunch meetings. Membership applications are available at the North Clubhouse. Women's Golf The Sun Lakes Women's Golf Club is an 18-hole club that plays every Thursday on the Championship Course. Our membership includes golfers of all ages and abilities who share the love of golf and love to have fun. We play easy games, interesting tournaments, and specific competitions. On the second Thursday of every month, we have a luncheon and general meetings at the Main Clubhouse. We invite you to join us and become part of the only 18-hole Women's Club within Sun Lakes. It's a great way to meet like-minded golfers, hone your skills, and have a blast while doing it! For information, contact Mo Farra, Membership Chair, at (714) 292-4056. We play nine holes every Thursday morning on the Championship Course from the gold tees, so no need to be a big hitter. More importantly, our members play for fun and the camaraderie of fellow Niners. We take the game seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. If this sounds like your kind of golf club, call Brenda Day at (951) 392-4009 or Joyce Powers at (602) 550-1509 for more information, or pick up a membership form in the main Pro Shop. Congratulations to the winners of the Buddy/Buddy tournament: A Flight – 1st Place: Linda Hoyt and Janet Fleming; 2nd Place tie: Judy Jones, Maria Kort, Anne Wood, and Jeanie London. B Flight – 1st Place: Jane Roseblade and Joyce Powers; 2nd Place: Lyn Ball and Merle Nazareth; 3rd Place: Pat Echelberger and Joyce Close. Lady Niners Rita Nelson aer her hole- in-one on #14 at the Executive Course. Recent Cup Qualier – Kimberly Kim
