Dr. Robert Montgomery Pavlik January 6, 1947 – July 24, 2025 Dr. Robert Montgomery Pavlik, affectionately known as "Bob," passed away suddenly on July 24, 2025, following a stroke and brain bleed. He was 78. Born in Chicago, IL on January 6, 1947, Bob led a life defined by curiosity, compassion, and quiet integrity. A professor of Finance, he retired from Elon University after a distinguished academic career, remembered fondly by colleagues and students alike for his sharp intellect, steady guidance, and genuine warmth. In 2012, Bob moved to Sun Lakes, California, where he became an active and beloved member of the community. Known for his easygoing personality and his willingness to lend a hand, Bob participated in many local groups and enjoyed strong friendships throughout the complex. He served as Vice President on the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital Board, contributing his leadership and financial expertise in support of the local healthcare community. Bob's main hobby was golf — he played whenever he could and truly loved the game. For many years, Bob lovingly cared for his wife, Barbara, until her passing in January of 2020. His devotion during that time reflected the depth of his character and commitment to family. In April 2022, Bob met Sherry Pritikin, and the two quickly became devoted partners. They traveled often — especially on cruises — sharing laughter, adventure, and deep companionship. Bob was the proud father of six children — three biological and three stepchildren. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride. He will be remembered for his kindness, his intelligence, and the way he showed up for others. A memorial service is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Donald Ranney passed away on August 7, 2025. His family warmly invites all to a Celebration of Don's Life, to be held on Sept. 20 from 11 am to 2 pm at San Jacinto Assembly of God, 300 W. 1st Street, San Jacinto, CA 92583. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Calimesa Breakfast Lions Club or Habitat for Humanity of the San Gorgonio Pass. | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | SEPTEMBER 2025 | 71
