Our August event, El Primero de Agosto, was a joyful
celebration of Mexican food and culture — especially
meaningful since we missed our usual Cinco de Mayo festivities,
one of our most popular programs. Members were craving tacos,
and Tacos and Beer delivered! The taco meal was delicious, the
service impeccable, and the table was beautifully decorated to
create a festive party atmosphere.
A special thanks to new member Sylvia
Southard (at left), who brought a fun and
educational Spanish bingo game. Played
like traditional "full coverage" Bingo, the
game helped us learn Spanish words while
having a great time. Three lucky winners
received raff le tickets, which they later
used in our raff le basket drawing.
As always, several fabulous raff le
baskets were won. Proceeds from the raff le
support a scholarship for a deserving student in the Beaumont
High School Culinary Program, chosen by their teachers.
Coming up next: Chill and Chat Ice Cream Social on Fri., Sept.
5 from 1 to 3 pm in the Clubhouse. RSVPs are required, typically
one week before each event. This is a great time to join —
membership dues are reduced midyear!
