30 | LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2025 | Cruise or Drive, You Decide The Solera RV Group loves having fun with our RVs. Recently, some of us have traded in our wheels for sails. It seems like a few of us prefer the open seas over open roads. Last June, Clark and Janet Hansen from the RV Group took a 14- day cruise from Southampton, England, to Norway and Iceland. In October, my wife and I will join six family members on a five-day cruise to Mexico. Additionally, six members from the RV Group will be sailing together in November for another five-day cruise to Mexico. So, what's the appeal of cruising to die-hard RV enthusiasts? Endless sunsets, bountiful buffets, new destinations, and letting someone else do the driving for a change. But if you think we're about to change our name to the "Cruising Group," think again. We love our RVs and our road trips. Like cruising, the RV life is all about exploring and being in the great outdoors. The RV Group has several camping trips planned for the coming months. In December, we'll head to Rancho Jurupa Regional Park in Jurupa Valley — one of our favorites. Rancho Jurupa is just a few blocks from downtown Riverside, known for its cultural activities. The RV Group plans to hold its annual Christmas luncheon at Anchos restaurant. Flabob Airport Café is nearby and offers the best breakfast in town. In January, it's back to Quartzsite, Arizona. The highlight is the annual Quartzsite RV Show under the Big Tent. This is a huge event that attracts tens of thousands from all over the U.S. RVs — both new and used — are on display, along with gadgets of every kind showcased under the Big Tent. This is the place to be in January. February finds us at the beautiful Coachella Lakes RV Resort in Coachella, California. Five lakes, two swimming pools, and plenty of activities await our group. Nearby casinos offer the best in food and entertainment. Also nearby are the General Patton Museum and the Living Desert Zoo. Whew! That's a lot going on. But we're still missing something. We're missing you! Please consider joining the coolest club on six wheels — and a few sails. Ownership of a recreational vehicle is not required to join the RV Group. Hope to see you soon. ~ Ron Monroe, RV Group Leader, (909) 732-6139, ronoap@aol.com RV GROUP
