| LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2025 | 27
Welcome to September 2025. Since this needs to be turned in by
the eighth of each month, I can't tell you about last month's gathering.
It was called a Taco Social on Aug. 16. We had over 90 people signed
up. Our music mostly ranged from 1963 to 1972, with songs from
Herb Alpert and his band, Jose Feliciano, and Santana. I'll have some
pictures for you next month.
This month, I have pictures from our Speakeasy in July. We also
had a big turnout for this event, with many attendees in costume.
Even our bartenders had a great time.
Now, about this month. For the first time in a few years, we are
having a progressive wine tasting away from the Clubhouse. We'll
be enjoying ourselves at three of our Sippers' homes. Our members
will be moving from house to house to sample different wines and
treats. Spending time in each home allows everyone to get to know
each other better. The best part is you won't need to drive until it's
time to head home, and parking should be easy since the houses are
close together. Check the f lyer sent out last month.
If you've been to a wine tasting before, you've probably seen
someone swirl and sniff their wine. That's because smell is considered
a very important part of wine tasting. Many sommeliers agree that
smell is the most important sense when enjoying wine. Personally, I
don't care much about the smell. I'm more interested in the buzz and
how I'll feel the next morning. ~ Marty Anderson, current president
of Sippers Club. Anyone interested in taking my place next year?
