| LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2025 | 7 We are pleased to welcome Dave Gilford and Diane Coman to our Finance Advisory Committee. Dave served as our Treasurer when he was on the Board and also managed businesses that required nancial expertise. Diane also has a strong nancial background. We are excited to have them join our team. e Finance Advisory Committee not only develops an annual budget and reviews monthly nancial reports, but they also provide information to our other advisory committees. One such committee is the Common Area Landscape Advisory Committee (CALAC). e funds for their projects, proposed by Park West and CALAC, come from our Operating Account, the budget, and Reserves. e Decoration Advisory (DAC) Committee has an annual budget, funded from the Operating Account. e Communication and Technology Advisory Committee (CTAC) uses funds from the Reserve Account to replace equipment and technology, along with Capital Improvement funds for new technology. e Recreation Activities Advisory Committee (RAAC) also has an annual budget, with funds coming from the Operating Account. e Welcome Advisory Committee also operates on an annual budget funded from our Operating Account. Lastly, the Contract and Proposal Review Advisory Committee does not have a budget and does not spend funds from any account. ere are two AD HOC committees: Streets and Fountain. e Streets Committee will spend funds from the Reserve account for street repairs and replacements. e Fountain Committee will likely use funds from the Capital Improvement account and possibly Reserve Funds depending on the fountain projects. Most of the association's funds are invested in Certicates of Deposit, each with a specic maturity date. Each month, one or more CDs mature. e Finance Committee consults with the General Manager and the Treasurer to assess whether funds will be needed soon. ey also consider current interest rates to decide the length of the investment renewal.
