| THE COLONY NEWS | OCTOBER 2025 | 3 A Letter from your Past-President By Bruce Dalfonso, Past-President, Colony HOA By the time you read this, my term as HOA Board member and president will have come to a close. What an honor and privilege it has been to serve this great community! It has been a truly rewarding experience and a highlight in my life of service. I have had the opportunity to work with so many talented people as fellow board members. I rst got elected in September of 2021. During the four years, the board has had a large turnover. is allowed me to serve with 11 dierent people. Each person brought unique skills, ideas, and experiences to the table. It's the culmination of those ideas, skills, and experiences that made the dynamics of the board work so well together and accomplish so much. eir dedication and teamwork made this journey so rewarding. I can personally vouch that all 11 people have outstanding character, honesty, and integrity. Did we occasionally have some heated disagreements? Yes. Did we make mistakes? Who doesn't? But I was always comfortable that every argument, mistake, and decision came from a heart that was dedicated to the betterment of this community in life style and protection of your investment in it. e same holds true for the many volunteers that serve on our committees. What an outstanding group of people who take the time to give their talents to the many projects, tasks, and events that happen here. I was able to meet with every committee at one time or another over the four years. You can't help but be impressed with what these groups of people accomplish to deliver so much value to e Colony. ey are the heart and soul of this community and make it a wonderful place to live. One of the biggest eye openers for me was seeing what happens behind the scenes in e Colony. I got to spend time with each member of our wonderful HOA sta. ey are there for the Board, they are there for the committees, and they are there for the residents. is team has evolved into a well-oiled machine. e reason being is that they all have the same goal. at goal is to do what they can to serve our community and deliver value. ey have a heart for the residents on a broad level and on a personal level. ey see us as one big family. Together we have accomplished much over the past four years. From the golf course litigation, to upgrading amenities, service, landscaping, and nancial stability, your support and involvement have made these achievements possible. Of course there were challenges. Whether it was navigating budget constraints, dealing with the unexpected, or the golf course journey, it was through our collective eort that we pushed forward and found solutions. I mentioned my gratitude for having such a rewarding experience on the Board. Without a doubt, the most rewarding experience of all was getting to know so many residents. I cannot thank you enough for what you have done for me. I am humbled by the overwhelming love and support I have received over the last four years by so many of you. God has truly blessed me to have developed so many new friendships! To the Board — thank you. To the committees — thank you. To the sta — thank you. To the residents — thank you. As I step down, I leave with condence that this community will continue to grow and ourish. e next chapter is full of exciting possibilities, and I encourage all of you to remain active, engaged, and committed to making this a great place to live. Who knows? I may be back to the board in the future. But for right now, I am going to take a break and enjoy a little more time with my wife, kids, and grandkids. I will continue to be engaged by joining a couple of committees. I want to thank each of you for allowing me the privilege of serving as your HOA president.
