| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2025 | 61 Here it is October, with just 86 shopping days until Christmas. That old adage about time f lying the older you get sure seems true. By the time this gets printed, the group will have gone on a couple of trips and will be getting ready for our annual October business meeting, which will be Oct. 12 at the South Clubhouse. Dinner will be provided, and we will be voting for President and Secretary. In August, we had an impromptu trip to Vista Elks. Fourteen rigs went and stayed five days, from the 26th to the 31st. The campground is a bit tight, but the lodge is truly one of the best. Tuesday was cornhole; Wednesday night featured fun and games, including pool, Farkle, and shuff leboard. The competition was tough on shuff leboard, with Joe and Kim Cross and Bob and Lyn Schive meeting in the winners' bracket. Someday, we'll get to play the rubber match. Most of the gang went to the horse races at Del Mar on Thursday the 28th, which was also the night of Cook Your Own Steak. We had such a great time that we booked 20 spaces, 14 of which were already reserved, for 2026 from Sept. 1 to Sept. 8. Bob and Pam Drummond are the Trail Bosses. Our other trip that will have taken place is 25 rigs heading to Jackson Rancheria, Jackson, CA. This site has been one of the best the group has visited. We have filled the 25 reserved spots, but if anyone wants to go, they can contact them at 800-822-WINN. The casino is also there, so if you don't have a rig, you can stay there and join us for the fun and festivities. The dates are Sept. 28 to Oct. 3. Next year, look forward to these events: * Home Town Rally - Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. * Yuma, AZ - possibly March 19-24. * Spring Rally in Hemet, April 19-24. RV Club WWW (Water Weights Workout) We will be glad when the South Clubhouse pool is open again and we can meet for Water Aerobics. By the time you read this, we will be meeting again Monday through Friday at 4 pm at the indoor pool. Our classes are led by awesome volunteers so come join us. The workout is FREE and you can attend when it's convenient for you.
