8 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2025 | In professional sports, the team is everything. If the players work well together their efforts win games and championships. No major league baseball team manager would complete his lineup with only seven players; no football coach would only field nine athletes when the game needs 11 players. Chances of success would evaporate. Teams need players for all their positions in order to function properly and work well. Likewise, teams outside sports require a full roster to function as designed and deliver maximum results. Teamwork and collaboration crucially boost creativity and innovation, increase productivity and efficiency by distributing tasks. Problem-solving and decision-making improve through diverse perspectives. Communication is enhanced along with a sense of community and belonging that builds trust. The organization reaps the benefit and those on the team find a greater degree of personal satisfaction and accomplishment. When individuals combine their different skills, they generate new ideas and find innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have been possible from a single consciousness. The District Delegate Assembly is a team composed of twenty-three primary Delegates and twenty-three alternates, assembled to constructively debate issues within the HOA. Currently, our team of 46 individuals lacks six people to complete its roster. Just like the baseball team that stumbles with only seven players on the field, the Delegate Assembly needs a full complement of Delegates to perform as designed, to work well. We need primary Delegates for Districts 2, 8, 11 and 16, Alternate Delegates are missing in Districts two and fourteen. In short, we need you. Most everybody at Sun Lakes says they love living here. Now's the perfect time to put that love into action. Not only will you get connected to the people in your District, but volunteers often feel a strong sense of purpose, fulfillment, and a deeper connection to something greater than oneself. Knowing one's values, worth and purpose will often lead to a more fulfilled life. Getting involved is twice blessed. You bless the community you love when giving your time and talents to work on its issues but the giver is likewise blessed by growing deeper in relationships. I hope you will seriously consider joining the Delegate Assembly. Give a voice to your District and make it count. If it's not the right fit for you, volunteer for a committee, EPAP or help with the administration in clubs or groups.
