| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2025 | 13 The GAC wants to remind residents of our golf course rules due to a rise in violations. Most issues involve golf carts too close to the greens, golf etiquette, and dress code violations. As a reminder of common violations: All golfers must check in at the Pro Shop before teeing off. When the Pro Shop is closed, all golfers must sign the after-hours sheet. A resident must accompany their guests at all times while using the golf facilities. Residents are responsible for their guests' behavior and may face disciplinary action if their guests violate golf course rules. Pets of any kind are not allowed on the golf course and practice facilities. Sun Lakes range balls are not allowed to be used on the golf course or taken from the driving range. Players must follow the Sun Lakes Golf Course Dress Code. Residents and guests must adhere to the dress code when using any golf facilities. PROPER MEN'S ATTIRE – Collared or mock turtleneck shirts, tucked in, or shirts designed to be worn outside pants, along with shorts, knickers, or slacks, and shoes, sandals, or other athletic footwear without metal spikes. PROPER LADIES' ATTIRE – Shirts or blouses with shorts, golf skirts, knickers, or slacks, and shoes or f leece suits with straight legs. Shirts and blouses can be collared with or without sleeves, or collarless with sleeves. UNACCEPTABLE APPAREL FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN – Tank tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, fishnet tops, T-shirts, cut- offs, sweatpants, gym or running shorts, bathing suits, blue denim clothing, or f lip-f lops. Most golfers at Sun Lakes are conscientious and care about maintaining the private country club atmosphere. The Pro Shop staff and GAC members prefer not to be the golf course police. However, when a rule is pointed out to a golfer, remember it is to ensure a positive experience for all golfers and residents. ~ Mike Callahan, callahm56@yahoo.com Golf Advisory Lifestyles Magazine is the resource most residents turn to find out what's going on in our community. At up to 80 pages, it includes pictures from residents plus articles from the Master Board, Delegate Assembly, FirstService, the Restaurant, the golf pro, and all the advisory committees. Clubs and groups send articles and photos about their activities to Sunlakesnews@yahoo.com by the sixth of each month. The Lifestyles Advisory Committee meets on the seventh of each month, unless otherwise specified, to review and edit the articles submitted for each month's issue of the magazine. We also publish want ads and for sale items from residents at no cost and hide a monthly joke for residents to find. Responses to our "Get the Joke" contest are put in a hat and a winner is randomly drawn, earning a Visa gift card as a prize. Photographs taken by residents of areas within Sun Lakes are used on the magazine cover. We also post pictures of residents on their vacations, or of their beloved pets. If you're good at proofreading and are interested in joining us, please fill out a volunteer application form that you can get in the Main Clubhouse Lobby, and we'll put you on our waiting list.
