The Recreation Department and Recreation Advisory Committee invite you to our spooktacular Halloween Dog Costume Parade! Dress up your furry friends and show off their most pawsome Halloween costumes. Limited to 50 registered dogs, Open to Sun Lakes residents only. Don't miss out- register early and let the tail- wagging begin. Registration starts on Wed., Oct. 1 and the deadline to register is Wed., Oct. 22 by 4:30 pm. No late or same day registrations will be accepted. Dog Registration Guidelines: $6 per dog (checks only); each household may register up to two dogs only. During judging, both dogs cannot be walked at the same time by a single person. If you have two registered dogs, please ensure a second person is available to walk or accompany the second dog. Awards Categories: Most Creative, Most Glamorous, Scariest, and Best Overall Costume. Every participating pup will receive a treat. Light beverages will be available for all attendees. Now, the Sun Lakes Recreation Department is excited to announce the Halloween Outdoor Home Decorating Contest. This contest is open to all Sun Lakes residents. How to Participate: Register your home by signing up at the Main Clubhouse reception desk today! The deadline to register is Oct. 15. The Recreation Advisory Committee will judge the decorations from Oct. 18 - 22. Awards and prizes will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Winners will be announced during the Halloween Doggie Parade on Sat., Oct. 25. Decorations cannot be put up until Oct. 1 and must be taken down by Sun., Nov. 10.
