26 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2025 | Art League Art League welcomes fall, with shorter, cooler days and all the beautiful colors that inspire artists everywhere. We wish you a wonderful October filled with few tricks and many treats! Please join us Sun., Oct. 12 at 2 pm in the South Clubhouse. Our guest artist will be new to us: Chuck McCracken, a western artist and portraitist. Chuck's work can be seen at the Banning Art Gallery and Museum. A series of watercolor classes is scheduled for Oct. 20, Oct. 27 and Nov. 3 at $30 for members and $35 for non-members. This should be a fun class offering a new perspective on watercolor art. Sign up at the meeting or by calling Shirley Anderson at (951) 434-7930. Many thanks to all who made Art Walk a great success. From set- up to take-down, greeters and ushers, to those who donated artwork, and especially Art League's extraordinary artists — we couldn't have done it without you! We are truly a "family" of artists. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed bringing it to you. Join us on Sun., Nov. 2 at 4 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom for the Chicago tribute band Pasadena Transit Authority. They will perform a benefit concert for the Sun Lakes Art League. This multi- piece band has amazing vocals. Don't miss it! The Lounge bar will be open. Tickets are only $20. Purchase them at this month's general meeting or in the Main Clubhouse throughout October, or contact Dave Henke (818) 381-3831. Congratulations to the winners of the August mini art show. Come meet our friendly group of art lovers and artists, from beginners to advanced, and find out what we're all about. "Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting, and autumn a mosaic of them all." ~ Stanley Horowitz Four Trees by Egon Schiele, 1917: Egon Schiele was an Austrian Expressionist painter mentored by Gustav Klimt. Schiele's Four Trees is a painting that is both beautiful and haunting. With its picturesque natural landscape and bright colors, it seems like a perfect scene for many to enjoy. However, there are darker undertones that reveal how problematic nature can be for humans. Don't miss the Art League's fundraising concert featuring South Pasadena Transit Authority, a nine-piece Chicago tribute band. Sun., Nov. 2; $20 tickets on sale now in the Main Clubhouse.
